Surfing in Imsouane, Morocco

The BayOne of Africa's longest right-hand waves

Imsouane is a small fishing village between Agadir and Essaouira. Surf sessions here follow the tide and the wind, with the harbour and village only a short walk away.

The Bay & Cathedral

The Bay is a gentle right-hander over sand, well suited to beginners and longboarders. Cathedral is faster and more powerful, so it suits experienced surfers.

When to come

The main swell season runs from September to April. Summer usually brings warmer water and smaller waves, which often suit first lessons.

When is the best time to surf in Imsouane?
September to April is the most consistent period. From May to August, the water is warmer and the waves are usually smaller, which often suits beginners.
Do I need any experience to book a lesson?
No. We start on the beach, then practise in easy whitewater over sand.
Is it safe to surf in the bay?
The inside section of The Bay breaks over sand, but conditions still change. Your coach checks the tide, swell and your level before every lesson.
What should I bring?
Bring swimwear, a towel, water and sunscreen. We provide the board and wetsuit. Bring a warm top in winter.
What if there are no waves that day?
We move the lesson to a better time or another day. Conditions are checked before every session.
How do I book?
Send us your dates and level on WhatsApp. We confirm your time and you pay on the day.
